Questions about using Tablestock, backups, importing recipes, or reporting a problem — all here.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use Tablestock?
No. Tablestock is local-first — there's no sign-up, no login, and no account required to use the App.
Where are my recipes stored?
On your device, in the App's local database. Tablestock does not sync your recipes to a server, and we don't have access to your recipe content.
Can I import recipes from somewhere else?
Yes — Tablestock currently supports importing recipes from .docx and .csv files. Other formats aren't supported yet.
Can I print my recipes?
Yes. Any recipe can be exported and printed using one of the App's built-in card and page templates.
What happens to my recipes if I get a new phone?
Since recipes live locally rather than in a Tablestock account, they carry over the same way any other app's local data does — through your device's own backup and restore process (see below), not through signing in somewhere new.
Backups and your data
Tablestock doesn't have its own cloud backup or sync feature — this is a deliberate design choice, not a missing feature. Your recipes are stored locally on your device, which means they're included in whatever backup your device already does on its own: iCloud Backup on iPhone, or Google's device backup on Android. If you'd like your recipes protected against a lost or replaced device, make sure your device's own backup is turned on in its system settings — Tablestock doesn't need any separate setup for this to work.
Importing recipes
From the recipe list, use the Import option and choose a .docx or .csv file from your device. You'll be able to review the recipe details before saving. If a file doesn't import cleanly, double-check it's one of the two supported formats — other file types aren't recognized yet.
Printing and exporting
Open any recipe, choose a template, and export or print it as a PDF. Templates range from simple recipe cards to full cookbook-style pages — pick whichever fits what you're printing.
Common troubleshooting
A file won't import: confirm it's a .docx or .csv file — other formats aren't supported yet.
The App won't open or feels stuck: try closing and reopening the App. Since everything is stored locally, restarting the App doesn't put your data at risk.
A recipe looks wrong after printing: try a different template — some templates are better suited to shorter or longer recipes than others.
Reporting a problem
Email us at support@tablestock.app and describe what happened, what you expected instead, and roughly when it occurred. A screenshot is often more useful than a written description alone.
Please don't send us your recipe database or export files to report a bug. Your recipes may include private family material, and we don't need your actual content to diagnose most issues — a description and a screenshot is almost always enough. If we ever do need a specific recipe to reproduce a problem, we'll ask for just that one.
